From October 26-29 2014 I will be conducting a Fall Color workshop tour in the Smoky Mountains. The Smokies are blanketed in their autumn tapestry at this time of year. One of the days we will be spending time in Cades Cove capturing the colors. During our time in Cades Cove we will spend time photographing the interiors of early american cabins taken care of by the parks service.

The Ann Arbor art fair which is my favorite show of the year starts on Wednesday July 16 – Saturday July 19, 10am-8pm. This year it looks like it’s going to be the best weather we have ever had for the show. The executive director of the Michigan Guild, Max Clayton, cringed when I brought up the W word when I stopped by the office yesterday but I have faith in weather.com and I expect great weather for the show. With the great weather I hope everyone hops in their cars to drive to Ann Arbor and enjoy the fair. While you are at the fair stop by my booth #198 on Main Street near Williams located in front of Real Seafood to say Hi!

This image was capture at the Gilmore Car Museum which is one of the locations for the Sleeping Bear Dunes – Lighthouse workshop August 10-13. I processed the image using Lightroom 5.5 and Topaz Simplify.

Last weekend I displayed at a annual Fourth of July show in South Haven and I had a little time to capture a few images in the early mornings and at sunset.
During the Sleeping Bear Dunes – Lighthouse Workshop we are going to be in the South Haven area for an evening and our last morning shoot. We will spend our time capturing images of South Havens historic area and Light house.

The 4th of July is a great day to have fun with family and friends and plan trips to our great National Parks. My images below capture the beauty of Grand Canyon and remind me of the visual treasures the parks hold for us to photograph. I have scheduled two workshops this fall in our National Parks, hope you can join us.

Shadow Lands, South Rim of the Grand Canyon
Both Topaz and Nix software can work magic on your image. Today Ihave spent a little time today working on images of the Grand Canyon that are in my Panoramic Gallery. The Topaz software that I used to finish these images makes a huge improvement over the original processing in Photoshop CS3 used just a few years ago.

Each year one of the most important art fairs for an art fair artist is the Ann Arbor art show which starts on the 16th of July. For me I always try to bring out new work that I think is not only artistic but marketable. While looking over some of the images that I captured while teaching last Octobers Italian workshops I liked this image which shows the tapestry of homes from Manarola in the Cinque Terre along Italy’s rugged Ligurian coastline.
